BSNL has come out with a Rs 3,250 tablet And Aakash tab, which costs only Rs 2,999.
BSNL- Pantel has recently launched their three Tablets out of which the cheaper one, BSNL Penta IS 701R is going to be a tough competitor for the world’s cheapest tablet ‘Aakash’ .

Similarities :
  1. Akash tablet as well as BSNL tablets having RAM of 256 MB
  2. Both The Tablets are having internal memory of 2 GB and expandable Upto 32 GB .
  3. Both devices are having operating system with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
  4. Both the tablet have a battery back-up of 2-3 hours in working mode.

Difference :
  1. Both the tablet having difference in processor. Aakash Tablet- 700 MHz processor while BSNL Penta IS 701R-h 1 GHz Processor,so BSNL tablet will operate fastly then Akash.
  2. BSNL Penta T-Pad IS 701R-h is Rs 250 more than Akash ubsilate .But, the Penta T-Pad IS701R has many improved features than Aakash .
  3. UbiSlate 7+ is slightly cheaper than BSNL Penta T-Pad IS701R, but the UbiSlate 7+ has a built-in phone. If you want to use your tablet as a phone, the Penta T-Pad IS701R is not an option for you. You have to either buy the higher end model for that .
  4. Resolution of BSNL tablet is 800*600 while that of UbiSlate 7+ supports only 800*480

DataWind has two versions of Aakash tablet: The original Aakash tablet comes with much lower specifications and is priced at Rs 2,500. Its cousin - UbiSlate, is comparatively more powerful and is priced at Rs 2,999. In fact, DataWind has come out with another upgraded version, named UbiSlate7+, which also costs Rs 2,999. Giving a tough competition to low cost Aakash tablet, BSNL launched three tablets priced at Rs 3,250, Rs 10,999 and Rs 13,500.

Features at which BSNL tablet wins:

1) Front end Camera: Front end VGA camera enables you capture photos. But the low resolution limits you from getting any quality pictures.
2) Video Conferencing: You can integrate the camera with any of the android application such as Skype or other to enable video calling when using internet.
3) Discounted data plans from BSNL for the tablet are a gift of BSNL to its tablet users.

Features at which aakash tablet 2 wins:

1) Low price: aakash tablet is already priced and with the government subsidy it will cost about half of BSNL tablet.
2) Speedy processor: Cortex A8 architecture enables you to outplay the processor of BSNL tablet with better Specifications.
3) Capacitive touch screen: A feature that every tablet user wants, resistive touch screens never provide any good touch experience when it comes to slower processor. Aakash tablet 2 will have a capacitive touch screen unlike BSNL tablet.
4) Special content portal for aakash from government: Government is planning to launch a content portal for aakash tablet 2. Though the portal can be used by BSNL tablet but the apps are optimized for aakash tablet may not function as well in BSNL tablet.
